Love it or hate it , It does need a nice non abrasive cleaner.

Advice: DON’T

Unless the designer was a drooling halfwit […] it will be lacquered, so you will first need to remove the lacquer (nightmare job), repolish (needs doing by someone who knows what they are doing or the finish will be uneven - esp. the platter), avoid handling with bare hands at all times, and then re-lacquer.

Further recommendations: DON’T!

Who the fuck would lacquer over chrome?
The whole point of chrome is not needing a protective coat.

I think it’s polished ali rather than chrome.

I assumed chrome as chrome cleaner was requested.

It’s all the same innit :grinning:

A damp micro-fibre cloth is all you need :+1:

Is that for clean up after one has been ‘fishing’?

Well if you are advocating running you old fella though a device like a clag-gone I would commend you on your bravery but suggest you might suffer the odd scorch mark to your knob. Jim’s approach to fishing is rather less abrasive.

You seem to know an awful lot about Jim’s approach.

He has discussed it regularly in the past. I’m surprised he didn’t go blind at an early age…
