I used the pics of your two to justify to myself that it was an entirely reasonable plan 
Obviously I should have just bought two as well but somehow the man maths and more=better brain cells activated simultaneously and restraint was abandoned.
The left-behind subwoofer is going to be collected in an Audi A2 so there may be more hazard ahead.

A small update on these. I have them in my room now but not yet connected as the industrial connectors (Phoenix) for input won’t accomodate my cables. I have other wires that will do the job but am waiting for connectors for the amp ends. Faff.
Initial thoughts are that the room will hold them back as they are too close. Also, JBL clearly didn’t spend an additional cent on cosmetics or foo.
I’ll stick up a pic or two in daylight.

Another update. Cables soldered and I’ve fired them up. Intended quick proof-of-life first listen ended reluctantly after 1am when neighbour awareness forced a stop. For something that’s basically an extravagant punt just plonked down in a non optimal room, the sound is almost ridiculously good. By no means objectively perfect but completely absorbing and believable as a musical event. Chuffed to bits.
Anyone want to buy a pair of Tannoy GRFs?
