Keith @keith1962 they are yours . PM me your address, I’ll work out postage so you can make your donation to the AA
I’ll try and post them in the week.
I am dithering.
I have a mish mash of average knives, when I take the time and effort to use the waterstones they take an edge and work well, but it doesn’t seem to be long before they need shapening again.
So I keep looking at knive sets and everytime there is a thread on here I am all over it.
I have realised that I don’t need a big set and I probably only use 3 knives.
I am also aware that if I buy a new set all the ones I have in the drawer are not going to be used at all.
So the other option is to buy one of those sharpening tools tha @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion bought recently and stick with what I have but make the maintenance less of a chore and the end result potentially better than my efforts with a wetstone.
@Mrs_Maureen_OPinion What is your experience of the sharpener that you bought? Was it a worthwhile investment?
To everyone else who has bought a reasonable quality knife set how do you keep them sharp?
(I am not talking here of @TheMooN type mystical blades)
Perhaps time for some radical surgery of your disparate knife collection Kevin… pick either the 10” or 8” Cooks knife the 6” utility and perhaps one of the others…they should stay razor sharp for a good while and easy to re sharpen…check out a few user reviews
Don’t know the brand, so can’t comment, but out of curiosity, is it 'murican?
When I read the descrition, it’s almost worse then an audio ad.
Like the ‘Built for Ruthless Razor Sharp Performance’ expression though.

I have watched Forged in Fire.
Murcan knives are hoooge and better used for logging than cooking
reads like a QVC ad, therefore = sh1t
How do you know ? You have never tried them have you
I see what the ad reads like, and I know what knives from a similar ad are like. Having wasted money, years ago on a set from a very similar reading ad.
I will take that as a less than informed nor useful contribution then
as you like
@Kevin Same advice goes for Wüsthof and Zwilling…Pick a good 10” or 8” cooks knife and an 6” utility and another type that you regularly use as your three go to blades
Feel the release as you condem the contents of your drawer to recycling
now those are a decent recommendation.
Victorinox make some nice ones as well. Their tomato knife is a bargain
I’d add a decent little paring knife for the prep of small veg and salad. Mine is a Wüsthof
Won’t go far wrong esp as you are handy with stones
Prhaps also consider a 6” Wüsthof as well for variety
Like yourself I tend to use 2-3 favourite knives for everything
…
Zwilling knife grades are very confusing
