I wasn’t really being serious Roger…but if you’re offering, that would be fantastic, thanks

I think I might send a few of mine here to see what it is like.

Looks interesting

Quality company…I have bought a couple of knives from them… excellent service and knowledge of Japanese steel :+1: caviat in that I have no experience of their sharpening n repair service tho I would be most surprised were they not employ decent craftsmen/cutlers

There were moans that our knives were blunt* so I got out the water stones I bought when @pmac pointed me towards an offer with Rutlands a few years back and sharpened the feck out of everything today. Cue moaning about how feckin’ sharp the knives were tonight.

Sigh.

*They weren’t. My daughter cannot slice tomatoes properly.

Every time this thread bubbles back up to the surface it reminds me why I love this fucking thing:

Sure, it’s not a patch on the esoteric Japanese water-stones you numpties all own, but fuck me it is HILARIOUSLY easy to use and the edge is more than good enough for anything I need… [/smug]

Cool, I’ll send a few to them and see how they turn out.

I am still hugely tempted.

I smell ‘adequate’ and it stinks…

Just booked in 3 knives to see how good they come back.

1 Global chef’s knife and 2 Robert Welch that all need some proper attention.

Will update when they are back.

I hope that works out…look forward to your consideration when they return…worst case it looks like Maureen can sort you out :grinning:

I’m pretty gentle on knives so the thought of an electric grinder like that makes me squirm! But I know they will put a good edge on with ease.

Spent literally hours today agonising over the choice between 2 virtually identical axes/hatchets.

Watched YouTube vids of weird Murican prepper types comparing them, using them and sharpening them. Then got distracted by some guy having a massive rant about a shit $17 Bahco axe and their response to his review, and then by the survivalist who thinks a $300 Spyderco tactical axe will save him from the hordes of socialists he was expecting to descend on his shitty scrubby little homestead if Trump lost (he might not have actually said any of that, but you could tell he thought it…).

Just so I can split some small seasoned oak logs into kindling sized sticks for the Ooni. FML.

In the end I bought the one an elderly English bloke used to split some oak logs into kindling.
