I think we used to have the same set. That happened to me too so we got rid of all the Global knives. Glad you avoided the slasherās peril.
That is quite poor form.
Just had to return our Victorinox scissors as they went rusty. Bit poor that imo.
Very happy with their knives though.
Iāve not used them, but Iāve seen a lot of reports of Misen knives doing the same thing. Theyāre new kids on the block and advertise quite heavily on FB etc.
I posted on another forum about Global having a problem with breaking and got flamed by all the fanbois. You would have thought I had kidnapped their firstborn or something!
Brand obsession is a thing.
On the flip side, my Globals have been absolutely fine. That said, theyāre nearly 20 years old.

Not sure on the age of these but Iām guessing at least 10 years. Out of a block of six two have sheared at the hilt - Ā£80 replacement ordered because āI want to keep the knife blockā - Mrs MWS

Seriously, get something like some Mac knives. Japanese still, but fully functional. No artistic wankery like the Global stuff.

Relieved that you were not shaving your scrotum at the time Ruprecht ā¦ I can only echo @coco in that I have a fair few Globals getting on for 20 years old that are still going strong and never had an issue ā¦ That said Global have been steadily increasing a couple of lines that sport the blade through the tang as apposed to welded at the point of blade > handle.
