It appears to be a bit of a theme, of which I’m sure the serving officers on here are thoroughly sick.
The rest of us are perfectly happy with “I pay your wages” == “Please set the dog on me”.

Oh christ, that one again. If I had a penny for every time I’ve heard that, I’d have about £6 by now.
Were it not frowned upon for public servants to do so, I’d kick the fuckers in the nads while yelling ‘No, my taxes pay your benefits, you entitled, sponging fucktard. The people who ‘pay my wages’ are generally wise enough to understand that they pay for fucking everything in the end. The whole country would grind to a halt were it not so. Die, you waste of blood and organs, die!’

You could also quote the pfm threads where people try to claim that taxes don’t pay for public spending, as quite frankly I would rather have my buttocks chewed by an alsatian than have that argument on repeat.
