It does a better job there, for sure, but I’d not usually use AI for pretty much anything involving facts (which it actually ought to be fairly good at providing), and much less anything more nuanced. I just thought it was interesting that Google’s AI manages to form an opinion despite Google’s own search algorithm being so grimly-determined only to feed you what it wants you to see irrespective of what you’re searching for.

Claude AI is more developer or technically focused and is great for checking scripts and debugging code or log files.
It does tend to be a bit more analytical than the others but I’m the same in that I don’t trust anything it ‘tells me’
People have started using MS copilot at work to write documents and you can spot a copilot email a mile off. I think it’s an absolute pile of shite.

I recently got a quote for replacement windows that was obviously AI generated. Wildly verbose, extremely confident and utterly wrong.
Why do people do this?
Before I retired I got a new line manager.
He sent me an email which was basically what he thought my dept was for and what we needed to focus on in the next year.
I asked him if he had used copilot to write it.
he said that he had and asked how I knew.
‘Because it reads very well and looks impressive but has no substance, no real facts and is just bloat’
After discussion I realised that it wasn’t really meant for me, but for his line manager who did not have an intimate understanding of what we did, but thought it an excellent document.
So the main use of AI in companies is a lazy way of bullshitting your management using corporate lamguage and buzzwords that they lap up.
Giving-a-fuck seems to be the luxury, high-end option in pretty much every aspect of modern life. Also: cheap.

Especially if people also copy in the copilot analysis bit at the end like the Cov hospital pharmacy manager.
The folks I work with are all highly educated on healthy six figure salaries - they have latched onto Co-Pilot like catnip and now use it to churn out absolute garbage in high volume and frequency like some kind of arms race for stupidity.
I was initially worried that the growth in AI would erode perceived value in what I do for them, but actually I now spend most of my time unravelling the crap that they’ve proudly swallowed from Co-Pilot and bringing them back to reality.
They awake as if from being hypnotised and quickly realise that they’ve been led down the garden path to nowhere by AI.
Then they do the same thing all over again.

We have a policy where AI or copilot is not allowed to be used for any safety related material.
Problem is people ignore that and when you receive a safety case that is hundreds of pages I have to sanity check it as I no longer trust what it contains.
As I understand it (which, to be fair, is hardly at all) it’s basically averaging the internet. If you employ stupider-than-average people because they are very cheap then AI will improve their performance. In any case it will be faster than people, however stupid or bright they are, and sometimes you need to get your boss off your back before the group heads to the pub for lunch..

It was a very busy day for the police as once again Brighton put on a huge show massively outnumbering the flag shaggers.
Everyone has a right to protest which the we have to facilitate, but for hours and hours the protesters were basically unable to move due to the sheer amount of people who turned up to show them Brighton won’t put up with their attitudes. They eventually after trying another route, gave up and all went home. Bar a few idiots like the above who stayed to try and cause more trouble.
