Interesting idea; I often listen by candlelight. Be Interesting to see how many people attend and follow the rules!

Are you going Kev?

‘..Hear these immense records played loud in uncompressed audio through Linn Kan speakers…’

Edit. When they say records, they mean -

We play 16-bit or 24-bit uncompressed files. We NEVER play compressed lossy formats or streams (basically, we play the highest definition files we can find which give the most detailed and full sound). We use 24-bit files wherever possible at the highest available sample rate.

Not planning to.
I can sit at home and turn the lights out!

I went to a Loraine James gig (in her “Whatever The Weather” guise) where I believe the rig was a sort of surround installation made by them.

I thought it was very good.

Oddly a friend in Sweden invited some people around to his in a similar vein; full album, no chat, whisky provided. So i guess it must be a thing now.

I joked about this on our Music Evening What’s App chat earlier. It was suggested that this should be an initiation for newbies!

Did a lot of that in the late 70s & early 80s. Some substances may have been consumed.

Used to do that when we were young. Only weed was the inebriant.
We even had a class at school, where we would sit on the floor in the dark listening to an entire album, then analyse it at the end.
I was introduced to Santana and Zappa in those sessions.

I usually listen in near dark only a candle and Terry the Tortoise lamp - needless to say Anne thinks I’m a fucking weirdo :joy:

Going to start these in our village. Only problem is that because our house has no front garden the pampas will have to go in planters on the pavement. I hope the parish council will be ok with that.

Nice fruitbowl on the coffee table for everyone’s keys. Hoping to feel a hand on my thigh by the time we get to ‘The Great Gig In The Sky’. :ok_hand:

But then you can’t get an anonymous tug job from what will obviously be a dude who’s also attended
