I’ve not listened to much of his music itself, but the number of artists that I love that essentially apprenticed under him is such a huge testament to his contribution to music.

I think the Foo Fighters have a good go here (Grohl’s singing and playing is impressive) But if I were paying money and had the chance, the Who’s Performance at the Isle of Wight would be the golden ticket.

In 1980 the stranglers had a couple of nights booked, but hugh cornwell was arrested of heroin possession. The show carried on with a list of friends standing in.
Sadly I can’t find any footage of the shows.
