Interesting read

Coincidence!
I remember reading about her earlier in the year (probably when that book came out)* and being the ‘female Bob Dylan’ and being intrigued by her story.

*Just checked and I posted in here in May but it was a NYT article so probably paywalled

I enjoyed this documentary

I remember the first release of her work. The female Dylan really should go to Karen Dalton but I can see how Convese really was expressing in a new way and how she may have inspired people who heard her. The mystery surrounding her just adds further rich colour to a very interesting lady

Excellent stuff - funny how his tongue-in-cheek nickname turned out to true.

Really wish Henry Rollins knocked the fat cunt out

Total embarrassment…

Thing is though if you react then he’s got what he wants. His entire career has been one big extravaganza of trolling for an audience.

(I’d have thumped him off stage instead).

I know. Marky Ramone took the bait hook, line and sinker.

This is a lovely wee film from 1973 - it has a bit of everything for the meatman - heavy nostalgia with trains, cars, buses, scenery, short skirts and some really great music by Bridget St. John and Ron Geesin.

Forgot he ran for London mayor getting 10% of the vote

McLaren’s manifesto

• London homeless lottery system to fund building of housing - designed and constructed by the homeless themselves.

• Revive Ilea, to provide adult education at affordable prices.

• Bring back electric trams, to run to two main axes through London. More use of the Thames and alternative forms of transport such as bicycles and horses.

• Lobby to decriminalise some drugs, using Amsterdam as a model to reduce crime.

• Reclaim public places by opening parks and churches day and night.

• Hold a London carnival each year. Also establish a “Buy Nothing Day” and a “No Car Day”.

• Cheap rates for local businesses to prevent London from losing its soul.

This is quite long, but I always find him fascinating
