Lossless ripping

Follow on to previous thread
What the best software/process for lossless ripping of CD?

dBPoweramp. Worth the £30 or so.

EAC will also do it but the metadata isn’t as good and there’s a bit of config to do. Settings easily found online.

+1 for dbpoweramp, bitperfect too.

Any free programs?

EAC

Thanks

dBPoweramp, worth every penny.

Also MP3tag as you will need it at some point and it is free.

EAC is much better than it used to be - the config is mostly automatic now. But still I use dbpoweramp

Andy,

IIRC you have a minipc there. You could install Vortexbox on it. This would deal with all your ripping and serving needs at the one go. The Vortexbox software is free and there is plenty of detail available on their forum.

I will have a read, thanks

No problem. FWLIW, I’ve used a vortexbox for years. If you have a squeezebox coming then the Vortexbox runs LMS and should talk to it automatically.
