We’ve had a Luxman L3 donated to the charity shop I volunteer at. I do the PAT testing and I can’t pass it.
To be a Class 2 it must have the double insulation symbol (a square box within a box) on the case. If not it must be treated as a class 1. It doesn’t.
It fails the Class 1 test, chassis not earthed.
I cannot sell as a charity item but could sell it privately at my own risk (no profit to me obv).
Is it worth it before I spend time testing functionality.
It seems a shame chucking it in the skip.

That looks like a lovely bit of kit for someone.
Must not go in the bin.

It’ll fail Class 1 because it’s a Class 2 appliance - like a lot of Japanese hifi.
Do double-check it’s 230-240VAC - some of this stuff is JP personal import and only 100VAC: plug it into 240VAC and box go bang!

Even if it doesn’t work, it’ll sell on thiefbay as a fixer-upper - even Luxman’s basic kit is good.

Yep. Done that.
Having a think, theifbay not an opinion.
Need a functional test it and stick it on here maybe. No idea how much?
If it’s tidy all over (doesn’t look bad) then ca. £100 on here. One in Japan is £180, one in Aus a very optimistic £350ish.
It’s a ~50YO amp, so any buyer should be factoring-in servicing, unless they hate their loudspeakers
