To put this into the sort of context that makes sense to me, I’ve just paid £50 for a minty pair of boxed Castle Severn 2. My brain will not even allow me contemplate the relative value for money comparison here.
In fairness though, in my case the failure is not one of belief. I accept that the world is full of confusing shit, I’m just too mean to pay for it.
I am working on obliterating from my memory quite a few things I wish didn’t exist, but that’s not parakeet theory-related - just a middle-aged bloke trying to get a head start on senility.
You are right, of course (unless you are part of the well-known global conspiracy of foo mains treatment manufacturers, hell-bent on convincing the public that cheap, poorly designed and intrinsically unsafe extension leads are intrinsically unsafe).
But having used nothing but cheap, questionable forrin-made extension leads, I’ve never had a problem (except with damage caused by being trodden on, which is nobody’s fault, not even the Chinese).
Damn, this poses quite a moral dilemma.
@mickbald - Before I can take up your generous offer, please confirm whether at any point since you started using the extension lead in question, you have experienced any of the above issues? Please send a picture of your house as evidence that it is still standing
