Good effort at 2:15 in the morning.
More cask strength arrivals to add to my stocks.
Actually two separate deliveries. Very pleased with the price I bagged t’ 2 bottles of Laphroigh 10yr age statement cask strength. Amazon briefly dropped the price to £54-95 each while they were getting a restock in last week.
The Wormtub 10yr age statement cask strength Olorosso sherry cask finished single malt is currently on offer for
£39-95 from MoM. Quite a bargain at that price, as its a fairly solid buy at full asking of £50. Its one of my go-too’s for an unpeated Speysider sherry-bomb. Much better rounded & less in yer face than Glenfarclas 105 IMV.>

Also sprung fer a 2nd bottle of t’ Five & Twenty 2yr age statement single cask American Rye spirit from New York. Wuz rather impressed on me first try of this on Weds evening.
With such a young age statement (2yrs & 8 months in the cask) it has to be called a rye spirit, rather than rye whiskey, but many American Rye & Bourbon whiskeys have very little more age than this.
Profile, characteristic & taste wise it delivers what I would expect from a decent Rye whiskey in spades. It’s better than my previous fave Woodford Reserve Rye whiskey IMV & as good or better even than Widow Jane Oak aged Rye spirit which retails at £68 a bottle. I had a freebie sample of this from MoM late last year. Bit of a bargain at £39-95 I reckon.
Particularly nice chaser combo. The Wrexham Export lager is one of t’ nicest lagers I’ve tried in quite some time!
Egészségére chums!

Pretty nice is this, I’ve had a number of disappointments with Golden ales I’ve tried over the last coupla years from a number of quite reputable breweries.
