I’ve got a couple of quite generic ones, can’t honestly remember any specific branding. I do find one works more to my satisfaction than t’other.
Kirker & Greer, freshly landed.
Ticks a lot of boxes, as described.
Irish single grain, triple distilled, single grain from a single distillery, so not a blend. Triple distilled in the Irish tradition. Matured in first fill oak casks for 10 years. None chill filtered. Cask strength at 56% ABV. Check on all of the above!!
Great deal price at under £35…
New one on me…Be interested in your impressions Chris
No worries, will do. Deffo having a tipple tomorrow night, after my latest M.o.M. delivery has landed. Really, really also looking forward to the Arran Sauternes cask finish, tho I will probably leave the Machrie Moor for a while as I have at least four peated expressions. on the go currently
I think you might like it
I certainly have an inkling I will too! Really glad I pounced & sprang for two bottles, as M.o.M ran out of stock last night.
Your positive comments in t’ whisky thread were very reassuring!
I left it too late to order as I am a numpty… Still, managed a few others from Amazoon which will be here today. I’ll find the Arran somewhere else.
Only currently in stock via third party sellers on Amazon, but they are offering the option of pre-ordering it at £38-54 for if/when they have more stock.
Must
Resist.
Be interested in how that XO compares with the Hennessy. I’m going to Google how much that costs, should I be sitting down?
Scratch that, quite a bit cheaper than the Hennessy… Looks interesting.
Blows the Hennessy clean out of the water for smoothness and complexity of flavours. I’ve taken bottles of this to Scalford and to Lopwell and it has always gone down very well at the end of the evening.
Definitely on the list. Better than the Hennessy XO for about half the price, that’s impressive.
Its all about what’s in the bottle rather than the brand and their marketing on cost which don’t add anything to the flavour.
I really like the 5 & 7 year old Flor de Caña. Might have to push the boat out for the 18.
The younger versions are bargains for the taste and smoothness on offer.
That was going to be my next question. Does the marketing hike substantially the cost of the Hennessey, which obviously it must do.
