....more armchair politics (Part 1)

I think envy is in all societies, including NL or D…
In countries like Italy it’s even more about ‘showing off’, especially with those higher on the social ladder.

Looking for difference rather than common ground keeps society fragmented to the current point of nationalism. We are a conquered lot.

Providing a safer ferry service will be my business proposal to underpin my macro entrepreneur residency permit.

“Fast track to freedom”

Catchy strap line and mission statement all in one. Will keep Gammon and asylum seekers happy, the French authorities will love it, and tax it.

Win win.

Just keep away from sandbanks …

Because they have no experience or understanding of this. The idea of knowing your place is deeply intrenched.

If that were the case there would be big walls around every wealthy area in the land.

This, conquered by our own establishment.

It’s not people who are the problem it’s the ruling establishment.

Nothing wrong with the Sandbanks Ferry

In fact it is very difficult for a chain ferry to be off course!

In a supposed democracy ?

There you have it. We are only a democracy for one day every five years, even then there’s no real opportunity given for change.

Ahimage
The virtual fence that divides the cesspool where the self righteous and obsequious flatterers go to bathe.

We are totally fucked.

Great idea. Cos the railways never, ever have problem with overhead cables.

If they put them on rails they could link several together and they’d only need one driver

Interesting, can see that working very well with driverless lorries.

Strikes me as a good idea. They’ll still need substantial batteries, for the bits not covered by overhead power, but this should reduce the battery size requirement, which is a big part of the environmental footprint.

While it might help with the driverless or lorry convoy thing, they’re only slightly related. For that you need a lot more than just electric, although it will need to be electric.

Or maybe use trains?

The extra handling is a huge expense. You generally need transfer stations at both ends; without a long term contract (at least 15 years) and backing of a government entity, it’s rarely possible.

It would also be good if we had a smaller number of freight companies, which could then use dedicated trains and distribution centres, but those days are long gone…
