Why arenât the aliens orange?
Great piece if you have the time. I wish I could write like this.
I think itâs most about income distribution.
The lower the inequality, and some regulation in place, the better the country is off as a whole.
For issues like roads, schools, health care or even sewage.
Looks like a north west continental Europe type of thought, as in Scandinavia, NL and Lux, and Germany/Austria/Switzerland.
From the article:
ââŚThe UKâs failure to get serious about inequality and weak growth over the past 15 years has left the average British household ÂŁ8,800 poorer than its equivalent in five comparable countries, research has found. âŚâ
I remember an interview with a Tory supporter, claiming that there used to be only one foodbank and thanks to the Tories now there are six!
Itâs becoming a self fulfilling prophecy.
If it werenât so sad and pathetic, I would have laughed.
I heard somewhere the other day that there are now more food banks than McD outlets in the UK
Tis true.
End of Year Stats - The Trussell Trust.
There are 1300 UK Ronalds.
1 in 10 families using them I think I heard⌠most of whom are working too. Thatâs a massive issue too.
How the fuck did we get to this?
(Donât answer, I know why)
And, yet, cunts still keep voting for cunts. Red Wall, myy arse ![]()
I thought it was the BBC Six OâClock news tonight, there are iirc 3000 food banks in the UKâŚ
Dunno. Just thought Iâd heard it and it seemed shit
Iâm enjoying the comments by various nationalists in NI wondering what the Ivory Coast had done to upset the Unionists so much.
It is shit.
While watching the news, I got the feeling that the generosity of all people involved in food banks are actually counter productive.
Imo, very simplified put, poverty is a problem of society that should be addressed to by politics.
If the (increase in) foodbanks âease the problemâ, politics wonât do anything about it.
With the UK political climate with US right wing political style (in spite of, or regardless of Labour) it will not change, except that the 3000 foodbanks will only grow in number.
Itâs certainly a coin with two sides. But without food banks there are kids in this country who would go to bed hungry. And every time Joe Public drops a tin or two into a collection point at a supermarket checkout they are reminded that the government is failing.
Itâs a bit like saying that famine relief and healthcare support for people in war zones should be the job of the local governments and the UN, but the actions of SaveTheChildren and MSF are allowing them to get away without doing their jobs. In one sense itâs true. In another sense it stops people dying.
Difference is that we are the fifth biggest economy in the world, feeding our meagre population would be a piece of piss if the government was willing to. They arenât, they are cunts. Itâs now the job of the working poor to feed the working poorer.
So long as the charitable person doesnât come to believe / buy the political, media lines: 'Thereâs nothing we can do". âItâs Europeâs faultâ. âitâs Putins faultâ âWe canât tax more because of the brain drainâ âTheyâre doing their bestâ âEveryone in Europe is strugglingâ. âImmigrants have taken all the jobsâ.
Theyâve just been told itâs their own fault for the last 20+ years. Dozens of âbenefits cheatsâ type programmes have rammed the idea of lazy scroungers into their daily mail prepped heads.
I donât know if they are now but tescos used to employ job seekers on below minimum wage and sack permanent staff to take more on. A company making hundreds of millions a year in profit being subsidised by tax payers. And they werenât the only firm doing that. That only happens because the politicians make it happen. Cunts
Started with family credit which then became working tax credit. Taxpayer subsidising businesses for paying shit wages. All of the fcking wrong.
Watching Sky news.
Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce are the new Two Ronnies, arenât they?
Got to be scripted ![]()
