Slightly lazy journalism there on the manager pay though, the “top managers” line includes the head and deputy head at each of the schools and is inclusive of NI and pension contributions as that is how that figure is worked out. My reading of note 11 in that trust’s accounts is that the heads are pretty much paid in line with what you would expect for the standard range for schools of their size.

The senior benefits increased by 22% though, even subtracting the 1.25% NI increase they could have just given them a 15% increase and the 5% could have been used for support staff salaries.

Without wishing to disparage Landau Baker too much, I slightly suspect the previous figures didn’t include NI for the senior management team shown in the previous year, the guidance on calculation has changed on whether it is included. If you look at note 11c in the 2021 accounts the pay bands for the higher paid lot have not really changed.

I was really impressed Pertemps refused to get involved. Fingers crossed more employment agencies refuse to support strike breaking like this, but I suspect enough will be more than happy to take the money.

I hope it is that and not a deliberate attempt to basically devalue the UK so their mates can buy everything up at bargain prices. For example, ramp up mortgage rates so people foreclose and property firms buy them up for buttons. Same with businesses. etc etc
I’ve always been a believer in cock-up before conspiracy.
