Plus the full stops after ‘YOU’, ‘sort out’ and ‘to help’ are missing.
Public schools nowadays aren’t what they used to be…
I was beginning to wonder if this bunch of Tory leaders was a good justification for ‘elite’ schools to retain their charitable status since they are obviously failing badly… ![]()
I would argue they should, but not under their expressed charitable basis - they are clearly actually doing a hefty degree of care in the community level work.
Even during the past decade of economic growth, social progress on many fronts – from education and healthcare to rights and tolerance – has declined in Britain. According to the Social Progress Index, the UK is one of only four countries to have slid backwards since 2011 (the others are Syria, Venezuela and Libya).
World beating
Jesus fucking wept, what a shameful state we are/in…
The thing that concerns me is I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Things are going to get a lot worse before they are going to get better. This is going to take years to fix. We must be months away at best from a house price crash. Prices continuing to rise whilst interest rates are on an exponential increase coupled to wages not keeping up with inflation makes a crash inevitable.
Relax, we’re decades away from recovery, and don’t worry - the people responsible are making £billions with no possibility of consequences to themselves - and we can just fuck off and die, because that’s what poor people are for…
Sadly, I suspect you are correct. Another generation fcked via the tories placating their masters.
Nah, we’ll be fine - they’re talking about bringing Boris back - you know the serial-lying philanderer with the criminal record who just goes missing every time there’s a crisis? Yeah, him, because things were going so fucking well before the current tepid-bucket-of-sick was made PM by 80,000 piss-soaked old biddies who think politics is a kind of beauty contest, but for middle-aged money-nazis…?
TBH as it stands I’d prefer if they did bring back the lying. cheating. thundercunt Jonson. As least that prick acknowledged as problem with social care and made an attempt to address it with the NI increase. Trickle down Truss seems determined to take us back to Dickensian times.
That’s actually painful for me to admit. I hated that cunt, but the new unelected evil fckers have taken it to a new level.
He acknowledged it…. Then proceeded to ignore it and shovel money to his mates like this one
He was just a more media savvy version.
It’s the catch-22 of politics. The ones that seem better are probably just better at hiding their evils.
That’s really interesting. I had kind of picked up that things worked well over there, but not in any detail.
There will be the counter argument culturally / economically etc etc why the UK is special and different and therefor bound to a corrupted and outdated system. The fact remains however whilst we attempt to make a world beating square wheel, there’s a perfectly functioning model a hop across that cold stretch of water the Vikings previously crossed to bringing some form of civilization. (Dublin / York etc)
Hand the keys of the kingdom over to some Nordic adults & hoof glue.
(Remains Stronzetto’s entire manifesto.)
nail, head etc!
Much truth, you only need to spend a little time in assorted Scandinavian countries - enough to get to know the people who live in them - to appreciate how much more rationally, pragmatically and even altruistically they are run. They’re no Utopia, but they make sense.
But it does rely on high levels of taxation. And dogma says “no”. And greed and stupidity - because their standard of living in this high tax regime is actually higher than ours, and they are materially better-off, happier and healthier…
But no - what REALLY matters is that the hyper-wealthy get tax cuts…
Yay! Tories!
Sam Tarry just got deselected. Oops.
One rule for public sector workers, another for the privatised management team more running the majority of our schools.
The difference in pay rises between these two groups is duplicated across the public sector where operating bodies are run as arms length agencies.
In this particular case the reduction in pay for the public sector workers resulted in strike section which the private sector management team then covered off with agency staff at far greater cost.
