Opted out on the NHS site this morning. Will drop the form in to our GP later this week.

Having had quite a bit of experience with primary care data (appropriately anonymised etc), I would estimate that less than 1% of registered patients choose to opt out.
It might take more than this to make a meaningful shift from that I would think.

I find the selling of personal medical details both immoral and abhorrent.
During my working life if i had given details of a persons medical history, treatment regime, or in fact any personal details obtained in a professional capacity, I would have been quite rightly disciplined, dismissed and struck off the register.
What gives this bunch of gobshites the right to profit from this personal data, the end game being that a third party is going to profit financially from my history.

Does say they will never sell the data.
And that it only helps research.

I seem to remember somewhere that the cunts promised it would all be anonymous data. I have no issue with data being used for research and given that most companies undertaking research are profit making, charging for the data and making some money for the tax payer seems reasonable.
Well youâre probably right to give them the benefit of the doubt Steve as these clown car chucklefucks definitely have no track record whatsoever of saying absolutely anything then doing the complete opposite.
