....more armchair politics (Part 2)

The opposition are not required to oppose the Government on every issue and they don’t.

The argument is correct, it should have been a free vote. The SNP amendment is trying to stop more innocents being killed.
I couldn’t give a fuck if what what it’s being perceived as. Surely less killing of kids and innocents is the better option. Starmer is showing he is chasing votes and lacking in principals.

Let me edit that actually he’s not chasing votes, he’s appeasing the right wing media in an effort to chase votes. Neither are a good thing,

They should be on this, it’s one long procession of war crimes by israel post the 7th segueing into each other civillians, kids babies and illegal weapons being used. With, of course, the overall aim being genocide.
As far as equivalence between hamas and the idf, the idf have killed more than 10 times the original claimed figures for the hamas action on the 7th.
And there is a substantial majority in the country backing a ceasefire, not a pause.
So maybe he should do some opposing, the useless, spineless cunt.

Who’s fucking conscience can be ok with what’s happening now?

Someone just on Newsnight saying a child is being killed every ten minutes.

Someone in the IDF’ll probably lose their job for their lax workrate. Murdering bastards.

There will be the usual ambiguity bwrween the ECHR and the EU in all the right wing press which talks about ‘European Courts’ and tries to make out that the ECHR has something to do with Brexit

hahaha this is the best thing to come out of Cameron returning.

Bet the twat is drinking pepto by the gallon with all the heartburn and bile she’s feeling at the moment

after David Cameron’s surprise return to government, gift-wrapped in a peerage despite his involvement in the Greensill lobbying scandal. Dorries, who famously quit parliament after being denied the peerage for which Johnson nominated her, is incensed. “As long as you’ve been to Eton, someone just has a word with the king and pop, in you go. It doesn’t matter that you’ve lobbied ministers and chancellors and former prime ministers to try and make yourself shedloads of money during the pandemic,” she says, witheringly.

WTF has the interviewer been smoking, I thought she is in her 70’s, she’s Mickey Rourke in a blonde wig.

Dorries is 66 but looks decades younger

How? Neither side fighting is glued to Parliament TV waiting to see the result and neither of them will pay it the slightest heed. It was a completely pointless* undertaking. They might as well have voted to reverse the function of gravity or to change the national anthem to the Airwolf theme music.

*Unless you’re in the SNP. Then the vote did a bang up job of demonstrating the internal tensions of your primary opposition.

And that would be the Cambodian national anthem …

I take your point but disagree it was pointless. Other than the participants the US is the main player in this. If they see the UK moving towards asking for a ceasefire it might help nudge them a little towards that position. Even without that I still think there is a point to making a statement to say you support the majority of international opinion, including the UN, that enough is enough. At the moment we are fully supporting the bombardment of innocent men, women and children. Collective punishment of the many for the atrocious crimes of the few.

I found it all a distraction. I prefer watching the IDF’s ‘underground base discovery’ videos although I think the narrator’s delivery needs further work. They also need to realise that the typical US viewer has 10 times as much weaponry as these Hamas cells do. They aren’t impressed by a few antique rifles & some cans of WD40.

James Cleverley speaking at the Policing Conference, up to now patronising and teaching granny to suck eggs. What a waste of time for the Police and Politics.
