....more armchair politics (Part 2)

Kent has been Deformed. Brilliant.

It may be popular to tax the rich (on all assets - Litterally the only way out of growing inequality) It would also be a fast track to the highest barrage of media challenges / muck spreading and fear mongering (Ahhh the brain drain)… and inflate Farrage’s war chest. If they had managed cuts and the economy better people may trust this ā€˜new’ approach but the track record isn’t strong - It would require a very strong push - Unfortunately starmer seems incapable of attack.

I meant to include that in the list of the UK’s problems but forgot. Reform seem to think that if you’re in need then it’s no-one’s fault but your own and the only remedy is for you to work harder. (They don’t mention being born lucky or raising funds by licking rich people’s arses.)

I would agree, but it’s the same for Con and Lab at the moment. I dont know what Lab will do next, but I’ll happily take a bet that it will be a fuck up.

It’s a real worry when we have got to the stage where we all assume (know ?) that any notable move will be a fuck up, don’t you think ?

Pleased. Down here, Reform has so damaged the Tories that Lib Dems have taken overall control of Devon county council for the first time since we’ve been down here (27 years). And where @stu lives a particularly corrupt & dodgy Tory was ousted by a Reform candidate and in that instance it really can only be an improvement. Anyone would’ve been.

Remember when people said that about Boris, and then lettuce happened?

The councillor in question (with a couple of others) had already committed funds without approval of the council to get the hotel chain in.

Yahoo is part of the Yahoo family of brands.

He got booted and had to go and stand again in @stu 's ward, successfully until today.

Looking forward to scandal stories now that reform are at the fore.

Sounds like a job for whistle blowing spy Stu. This guy needs setting up - I have the ultimate honeypot disguise

Numbers are slightly off according to Wikipedia but the overall positions are correct…

Looks like Unison are up for a fight with Reform led Councils this summer. I sturdier the TU November will pile in behind Unison and happily take on Reform in the Courts. Farage promised a Reform DOGE in every council they control. Battle lines are drawn.

I have a friend who volunteers for the National Childbirth Trust.

I think that NCT stands for Nottingham City Transport in this case. Quite close to where these guys come from. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
