I wish there were fundraising concerts, huge spam farms, and an army of volunteers crowd funding for these guys… Imagine if they could x10 / 20 /30 their output. 50 million would be very well spent in their hands.

This.

This is where we find ourselves.

Thatcher would be preferable — I remember thinking that during Boris’s stewardship of bullshit — but what Farage has to offer is a gigaton worse.

Looking at America, I see what’s in the post for the UK: The flags on poles that now mean fuck off, the division, the wholesale manipulation…unsubtle clues.

The glue pot is becoming almost magnetic.

Well done Labour, if true, this will hand the next election to reform or the tories.

Bit late as that horse has already bolted.

The right have done a great job of culturally stigmatising tax by propagating the fairytale that you can just keep lowering taxes and nothing bad will happen, and that you can also cut your way to growth,

They’ve also done a great job of protecting their wealthiest 1% paymasters who continue to avoid any responsibility for their extraordinary wealth accumulation (and pay less tax while they’re at it).

This is always the underlying issue, and if anything I find myself ethically leaning further and further left as I get older because of it (despite growing up being told everyone leans further right as they age - I think that might be expressly a boomer thing).

If Starmer’s tax changes didn’t hit any tax brackets below the £50k limit (or ideally, the £125k limit), I’d have a lot more sympathy. Or if they just closed a boat load of the loopholes that mean the very wealthy end up paying well under the income rates, I’d be a lot happier. But I’d bet everything I own that’s not going to be the case.

Male members?

Or Mail members?

Let’s not forget it was Thatcher, Heseltine et al that laid the foundations for this whole shitshow. Farage is their legacy.

Labour have more blame than Thatcher, she was dangerous but she wasn’t far right or even that right of centre.

Corrupt Boris and his Russian cronies are the root cause of all this and weak Labour leaders and stupid infighting permitted a long tory govt.
