I think the writing was on the wall when from a week in the newspaper articles and podcasts were all “ooh but it’s a such a shallow majority”. As if anyone gives a fuck you’ve got 5 years starting from now.

It’s just so unfortunate that McSweeney had his phone stolen at this critical time or we’d have had all the evidence to sort out what actually happened.

One question i haven’t yet heard asked is that given the PM said it is incredulous that an individual could fail vetting yet be cleared by a civil servant without a Minister being informed of that vetting failure, how many others were so appointed? If Starmer is to be beleived, that should be zero.
Then you have to ask, in those cases where a Minister is informed, how many were appointed?

Interesting side note that while Kemi Badenoch has appointed herself cheerleader for the ‘Starmer Out’ brigade, her memory does not seem to extend back just six years to 2020 and the Dominic Cummings scandal, which resulted in neither his sacking, nor much in the way of calls for Boris Johnson’s resignation. Her forgetfulness comes in spite her being Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury at the time, in which role she participated in numerous debates concerning the effects of Covid 19…
Seems the shortness of political memories is itself something of an epidemic.

I have long been scathing about Unite.
Therefore at 13 minutes into this Page 94 Podcast, news of “…secret talks with Reform…” are not surprising…
Tis a shame the sack he got wasn’t tied and weighted down with bricks.
Waste of a sack. And we need bricks for affordable housing.
He’ll find his fall from ‘grace’ far more painful.
