And then threw his bike at the bear
And thought it would have been really cool if it had all been videoed…
The more worrying aspect is it’s all computer controlled and more than likely connected to the internet. An outage that big could easily be the result of a cyber attack
Yewtree Part Deux perchance?
It’ll never amount to anything. The Royals will make sure of that.
Do you think it was ?

No idea but infrastructure is a prime target for both states and individuals. And the security of those systems is typically not top drawer.
I think the UK will be quite vulnerable as we’ve sold all these business to private companies who pay badly and don’t look after their staff. Most execs haven’t a clue how much they rely on their IT admin staff and they treat them appallingly. One day it will really come back to bite them.
You seem to have a conspiracy around every corner.
Doesn’t 2 failed Generators cut it ?
I’m a bit surprised that anyone thought disconnecting the railways was a good idea. I don’t know how granular the system is. I know that the traction power runs, at least sometimes, direct from a grid node to the trackside (I live in Didcot and some very thick cables have been buried in trenches from the power station to the GWR). But if the signalling is powered from the same distribution network as houses and businesses then the railways can’t easily be protected. However it’s more obvious than a very obvious thing that disconnecting me from the grid for an hour or so would have caused a great deal less grief than disconnecting the East Coast Main Line.
I suspect, of course, that Network Rail have done the same as quite a few large electricity customers i.e. they’ve negotiated a cut price power deal based on an agreement that they can be cut off first, knowing full well that when the shit inevitably hits the (non-rotating) fan most of the public will blame the grid, not the greedy.

I’ve giggled at that, but I’m not sure I should have.
If it’s true that he’s dead what’re the odds that he was taken out before he could really start naming names…?
Well then, that’s prince Andrew and Trump off the hook
Given that there was an alleged attempted suicide attempt only a week or two back you’d have expected them to take more care of him. But I guess if he needed to be whacked he would be regardless. How very unfortunate.
If two failed generators can cause a blackout on that scale I’d say the system is shite. The whole point of a grid is resilience.
And I wouldn’t say a conspiracy, just the usual profit before everything behaviour we see everywhere now, regardless of the consequences.
It’s not that two failed, but that they did such a short space of time apart. A once in a decade event.
I find all news less depressing in pidgin.
