Right then, confronted with the reality that I’m going to have move house sooner or later, yet another expedition has been mounted into the storage cupboard. For your edification this time around is;
iFi iDSD Valkyrie. DAC and headphone amp. Technically portable but only if you’re wearing a university gown. Sounds brilliant though and includes fun features like DSD resampling and JVC K2 processing. £600
Arcam A25 integrated amp. Combines analogue and digital inputs with credible phono and the like. This is the outgoing model which dealers are selling off for a grand. How does £500 sound?
Cambridge Audio CXA81 MkII integrated amp. Also combines digital and analogue inputs but no phono (you get XLR though). Genuinely good. £400
Mark Levinson 5909 wireless headphones. Best seen as a Harman International technology demonstrator rather than an actual ML product. Very good. This pair is black to make you look less of a cunt wearing them. £300
Bluesound Pulse 2i Chunky wireless speaker. No looker but sounds good and supports umpteen streaming services £200
Clearaudio Concept MC Cart. Unknown hours but not that high. Has a giant presentation box too £SOLD
Then there are items that didn’t sell in previous offerings;
Goldring 2500. Another MM. Built by Nagaoka for Goldring and now discontinued. Has a basically new (ritzy GygerII) stylus on it after I twatted the original and it’s done bugger all since. No packaging but can be made secure for transit. £200.
Sumiko Olympia MM cart. Genuinely decent thing this. It’s done c50 hours of general test work and has all packaging. Yours for £SOLD
Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200. Go on, guess what it does. Boxed £SOLD
Amps might be a stretch to post but I can inquire. Everything else can post via RM.
