I have a working Miele in the garage. It was to be sold as we now have an integrated one.
It’s free if you want it.
Only issue is that it’s been there a while! Maybe ten years!Not sure I can test it easily. No reason why it wouldn’t be ok. But might not be. Might be worth the petrol to see?

Cylon Bosch from the last necro is still going, albeit it whines if the drainage isn’t instant which can be an issue in our not particularly well installed kitchen.
Oh, and it has a cutlery tray rather than a basket which could help bring down the accident rate (it seems like dishwashers are more dangerous than sharks from some stats).

I bought a John Lewis dishwasher a long time ago (second half of the 20-teens I think - so long that I can’t easily find the receipts) and it’s been fine. It was used maybe 4-5 times a week when there were two of us and maybe 3 times now it’s just me (cooking for one dirties nearly as many bowls/pans as cooking for two). I’m pretty sure JL is ‘just’ re-branded Bosch, so this is a vote for Bosch. People said when we bought it that white goods were “all cheap crap made in China these days - you’ll be lucky to get 3 years out of anything” but the pessimistic lifetime prediction hasn’t turned out to be true. We have a water softener (dates from the first half of the 1990’s and still working) so we don’t need dishwasher salt.
All that said, I had to replace my washing machine last year and I went for a Miele because their reputation still seems to be standing (at least to some extent) and their Outlet store is in Abingdon, which is the neighbouring town. This means I could drive up and check the physical condition of, say, an ex-display model before committing to buy it. I’ve just done the same again with a Miele fridge-freezer to replace the 50-year old Electrolux one (I’m not joking) that we’ve been using since 1986 (actually it still works but the aftermarket replacement thermostats are very poor quality and the door seals are really stiff and the wall-insulation is so thin that it burns a lot of leccy).

It’s updated around 09:00 most mornings. The discounts are pretty good but do check other discount retailers because sometimes their price for ‘new’ won’t be hugely more than Miele Outlet’s for ‘shop demonstrator with a few hours use and a small dent in a side panel’. If an item sits unsold for a while they may reduce the price dramatically (red numbers on the extreme right of the price list). You might have to move fast then to grab a real bargain.

Anyone here doing the 2 dishwasher thing? 1 clean you take plates and stuff out of as you needthem and one dirty you put dirty plates in and then turn on / swap when you fill up / run out?
I think it’s a brilliant idea, the wife thinks I’m a mad lazy cunt.

Two functional cupboards! I love it!
My sister used to do this when they lived in a big place.
If I had the room I’d seriously contemplate it.
It’s just one expensive (well organised with bespoke storage) cupboard more.
Sorry to hear that. Still, it’s the school hols so I imagine you’ll be out harvesting annoying teens soon enough. As long as the chest freezers are still working you’ll have the readies for more white goods in no time

Worked in any number of chalets with dual dishwashers - in that context, I consider it pretty much a necessity unless you have an under-counter commercial one with a 3-minute cycle. But that’s also not representative of normal life on so many levels. You’d normally have 10-12 guests in the chalet, and obviously, they’re paying some really quite massive amounts to stay there for the week, so you needed to keep properly on top of things.
I’ve elevated bone-idle to an art-form and still can’t see the point of this. I’ve never even contemplated unloading the magic cupboard being a task worthy of note - it gets done in the pre-cuppa mindfog first thing. With just two of us, it’s a once-a-week task.
…oh yeah, ordered an AEG from Marks Electrical - not least because affordable and they will take the old one away, for free… If it lasts 3.5 years then £-for-£ it’ll have kept pace with Miele. If it doesn’t, I’ll be back on here pissing and moaning as per normal - with a written record of Who To Blame to refer to…
