It’s a bit mental. Fine if all you’re looking for is some banter but I’m interested in hifi. Just saying
I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment
Although you missed “music” as opposed to hifi.
The various threads offer some very good tips that I otherwise wouldn’t have seen.
Yes it does seem better for music discussion, I’ll give you that.
Most people on here are sort of past that, they are still owners of (in a lot of cases quite amazing) systems and use them, but are probably more interested in music these days, although the weird and wonderful still gets a mention, especially if you are in to horns!
Welcome to the ‘post hifi’ hifi forum
I’m past the audiophoolery with expensive cables and DACs etc. I like Audio Science Review these days, as the technical side of things I still find interesting. Cheap DACs and amps these days measure pretty amazing and speakers and room acoustics are the most important things.
This is as true as it gets.
Blindly following measurements is audiophoolery too. Listen to the music.
It’s really not. I do listen to the music. The measurements are far more microscopic in nature than our own hearing can achieve.
Just going to award this thread a cat and get it over and done with
I’ll give it a 6/10 for trolling effort.
Thanks. Not trolling, though. Just audio discussion. Oh wait audio discussion is trolling here
I didn’t really set the place up to be a straight hifi forum, there’s loads of them about. It was mostly about making sure a fantastic group of people didn’t get scattered to the four corners due to the actions of a particularly cunty individual. Hifi just happens to be the common interest point, but as was mentioned earlier, most people here are well past the regular chopping and changing.
Yeah, I was on the Wam as Miller-8 back then. I drifted away for a few years when my kids were born and then returned a few years later to find it had completely changed. I got banned from Wam last year.

ASR is actually pretty good. People dont like it because they dont like the possibility of their expensive gear actually measuring the same or worse than some cheap stuff.
I also like Audioholics on YouTube. Some great videos on why expensive cables are just snake oil.
Yep, this is going well.
I enjoy discussions like this.
Do you have any videos of horns playing jazz, I like those?
