Quality like truth, integrity and character seem to have no home in a disposable world.
I for one yearn for the once common silver platter of gents toilet mints at hifi shows - Those bastards used to see me through all year.

Just had a look at that link - aside from the fact they’re not hand-trimmed and planed, and have simpler moldings, they look very similar to the box sashes we have here that were installed ca.1750, so you’ve got me wondering what makes them inauthentic?
These guys charged us £13,000 to rebuild 12 of them, re-using as much of the sound material as possible. Look like they always did, just less 200 years of rot, no drafts and now I can open them all. Grad 2 listed, no other way… Yeesh. Who needs a pension anyway, I’ll be dead before it’s needed…
