Who is the go-to for re-coning Tannoy HPD drivers these days? My cat has just wrecked one of mine, the little shit. Lockwood were my first thought but they seem to be all about selling new shiny stuff now? Fucking cat.
You want to speak to Nick Potter at Lockwood Audio - 07813 041 959. Different company to Lockwood Loudspeakers.
I love my cat more than almost anything but this episode is really testing me. The drivers are removed from the cabinets and sitting wrapped up on a shelf, they were verbally sold and waiting to be taken away. Cat has never shown any interest in anything on the shelf before, dedides tonight is the night to change that, jumps up and pulls on the towel that the driver is in. Driver tumbles, chassis hits cab of my telly system speaker below which wrecks that speaker and then pirouettes to impale its own cone on the corner of the tv stand on the way to the floor. Three seconds of expensive destruction. Cat bolts outside and has just come back in with a conciliatory gift of a mouse for me. The mouse is alive and she proceeds to release it for me to chase around the house so I can put it outside again. Fucking cat is right.
Thanks for the Lockwood guidance, will give them a call. Or maybe just sell the drivers as spares or repair. Scunnered with it now.
Thank your lucky stars it’s not a horse, cats are cheap to run.
Horses tend not to destroy speakers. Except for those that are in the iPhones they stomp, but that’s just collateral damage.
To be fair to her, Poppy is not a destructive cat and last night’s episode was just unlucky exploration but still! Am about to phone Lockwood for the bad news.
Needs Benny Hill music playing in the background reading that.
There was more. I eventually went to bed but was half woken in the small hours by sound of cat bumping about downstairs, presumably with another mouse. Went down to intervene but no sign of mouse. Found it, alive, in my shoe this morning. The cat is on gumtree.
