Re making the room seem rectangular with the LP storage - acoustically speaking, a room without parallel walls is much better. Studios are designed that way deliberately. I would concur with the rockwool, though, but house it in frames with acoustically transparent fabric stretched over it and preferably an air-gap between it and the wall, behind. But don’t cover it with board or record storage. That way aesthetically you will still get the sense that the room is rectangular, but the rockwool will be serving an acoustic purpose. It will really help the sound.

It is only 9 months old. Mine is 15 years old. Still looks and works like new though!
