I must admit that I am very tempted by these. I’ve read and viewed a few reviews but, as always, real experience trumps that. So, any actual experience of these out there ?
If so, what do you think ?
Cheers

Think Ed has heard them
Yep, I read his review, but that’s a published review, with all the commercial considerations / politics etc that entails.
Wonder if they plan doing a new 44/405
Don’t even go there.
I was planning on having a poke and a prod yesterday, but the weather was shit.
I hope to have a go on Monday.
Be interested to hear your thoughts Guy.
Let us know what speakers they use for the demo
The guy asked me what speakers I’d be planning on using.
I said Amphion Argon 1 and then noticed a pair sitting on the next shelf up from the Quad boxes.
Frankly who gives a fuck what they sound like, they look great. They’re going to achieve a basic level of competence, buy the best looking stuff.
They really do.
So, will you be indulging ?
Baby steps. I’ll see how I get on with a turntable first.
Although TBF it really did make my current Sonos sound really rubbish.
I’d say he has bought them
Have you bought a tt?
Yep, like and subscribe for the unboxing video.

Is it a Debut? Certainly one appears in the earlier pic.
So you went to a well appointed dealer to try the masterfully updated pieces of industrial design into exquisitely crafted compact speakers.
What obscure banging techno did you put on first to see the reaction on the dealer’s face?
I’ve always loved Big Macs. Looks wise at least, I never quite got on with the sound. They reminded me of what teenagers used to do with graphic equalisers. Lots of bass and treble, and bit thin in the middle. I’ve owned 2275, 7200, and borrowed a set of 601 monos. All sounded very “mcintosh”.
Ended up going Luxman instead. Which offered a similar (better even?) aesthetic, but sounded good.
As for the 33/303, I heard them briefly at a show recently, and though hard to make any huge observations, felt they were a bit warm and safe. Not sure I’d describe it as “Hifi” and there are definitely cheaper ways to get something just as effective.
Here… just to offend your eyes!!
See the original thread. The selection of records was pretty thin - I’m guessing that vinyl guys like to bring their own stuff usually.
