Oasis, who's going

Not sure why Manc football hooligans called themselves after a product used in flower arranging?

I wonder what Ashcroft did in a previous life?

I think Noel Gallagher was a big (The) Verve fan back in the day.

Oasis were due to support the Verve in Amsterdam when the ferry incident occured, he wrote Cast No Shadow about Ashcroft, and afair Noel managed to persude the Verve to get back together after the split following A Northern Soul, which then led to Urban Hymns and the Verve going mainstream with a bunch of pop singles and making some money.

They should put him top of the bill. Way better than Liam’s ever going to be & better songs too.

Of the four Verve albums, I only ever listen to the first two. Must listen to Forth again someday. I don’t listen to Urban Hymns at all.

I saw Oasis at Earls Court in 1997 and The Verve were the support act. I enjoyed The Verve more despite being a big Oasis fan at the time.

It will be a great night,…Sadly

Viagogo having a fit because Oasis and their promoter are cancelling resold tickets unless sold back to the original agent. Viagogo setting themselves up as the musical equivalent of Musks free speech pitch with Twatter.

Daft cunts, just pissed off that it could catch on and they would be out of business more like.

On the other hand it’s bad enough that Silicon Valley have been allowed a monopoly on ticket sales, to the extent where they dictate pricing, tour dates and venues. Ticket master are cunts too.

How the fuck did we manage this before the intetnet fucked it up.

Just another example of how Corporotocracy’s are winning.

Everyone involved in this fiasco comes out of it looking an utter cunt - except the fans who will have paid through their eye sockets for tickets that will prove to be worthless.

On the upside, Oasis get to cancel 50,000 tickets (presumably without compensating the poor sods who ended up with them) and can sell them again. Ker-ching.

Obviously, it’s perfectly OK to make people queue for fucking hours, only to charge them more than double the advertised ticket price (dynamic pricing, my arse), but heaven forbid that any other greedy bastards should try to get their noses in the trough.

Oasis had better be fucking good when they play next year, is all I can say.

Whether they are or not, they will certainly be fucking rich. That’s the whole point of this corpse-dragging reunion, of course.

I foresee a protracted legal battle, which will be far more interesting than the gigs, I suspect.

Maybe they relish the challenge of walking onto a stage night after night to a silent audience, arms folded, all thinking “Go on then, impress me. You’ve had enough of my money. And no, I won’t buy any of your shoddy merch.”

:thinking::rofl:

Will Liam G transition from bellowing to singing?

I like Alexis Petridis - find he often articulates the impressions I have of an artist/album really well. Though not read him for a while, since he became general culture critic.

Didn’t he do that article on the Scalford show for GQ magazine, back in 2015?

Well remembered, it was Esquire:
