Retired from commentating in 2001, really!? Has it really been that long, wow.

His enthusiasm was infectious and breathed life into what was sometimes a precision, even back then.

A good innings as they say and a life well lived. Chapeau

I’m stunned he was 97. One of those individuals who rested in the subconscious somewhere. The thought he’s gone has gone and made me feel older myself :slightly_frowning_face:

Someone posted up on twitter a couple of days ago the first round of him and Hearns as the greatest opening round ever - staggering to watch.

A true legend.

What a shame - a great actor.

3 dogs stolen from our town last night from same premises. Two lurches and a staffer.

Bastards.

Fuck’s sakes. As if people don’t have enough to be dealing with…

Wrong through BTW

Sabine Schmitz, she had cancer sadly.

Always remember that video of her flooring the van around the ring.
