Bollocks, another one goes

Very sad. Glad they got to play again a couple of years ago

NO … Not another one, only 70 too.

“he distilled the Stooges and MC5 into a more exciting whole.”

I love BJ and The Damned, but not so sure about this sentence!

I don’t enjoy modern tennis, but the game back in those days was/is beautiful to watch.

wow didn’t know he had cancer.

Mate of mine started his career at Jordan on an engineering apprenticeship, he said Eddie could be the most amazing boss ever and also the most colossal twat a minute later.

Not a fan, but he was a character.

This. He was a bit of a Trump in F1 - proof that the energetic application of unlimited self-belief can carry you to the top in the face of a limited talent set…

EJ had enough skill to win national championships as a driver, had enough self awareness to move into team management once he reached his limits in the cockpit and then had the guile, self belief and drive to win British and world championships as a team owner in lower formulae. He never quite cracked F1 but he put together a team of good people which did win races and came third in the Constructors in 1999, which is a lot more than several other far better connected and funded teams have managed. He had enough wit to sell out for millions once the tide had turned against him in F1 and to move on into other businesses using the F1 millions to make many further millions. Doesn’t seem too shabby a talent set to me.

He may have traded on all that to do a turn as an annoying blarneying “professional Irishman” telly rentagob in later years but he was nobody’s fool.

DJT: trust fund baby to a cunt, draft dodger, rapist, Epstein-ist, business failure (bankrupted multiple casinos, ffs!), Russian stooge, fascist, liar, abuser, fraudster, narcissist, moron, shitstain on humanity.

Not sure that’s really a great comparison.

That’s pretty comprehensive coverage of DJT but I’d add bully, threat to the world economy and not dependable when the chips are down.

Richard Chamberlain. Perhaps best known for his roles in Shōgun and The Thorn Birds.

Passed due to complications resulting from a stroke. He was 90.

Many ladies of a certain age will be in mourning.
