Aw, shit.

The bass intro to This is The One is an absolute classic.

What a band.

RIP

I’d already identified a Paul Costelloe jacket that is going to go out to make room for the new jacket that I just bought.

Sorry mate, hope I didn’t jinx you :grimacing:

Sad to hear about the death of Jimmy Cliff. He was one of the first artists I can remember hearing as a very young kid back in the 60s. The early Island records single, King of Kings, was one of the many ska tunes my mum had bought & played on the Alba radiogram. Happy times.

I really enjoyed his stuff from the 60s and early 70s. This included the film " The harder they come", which Jimmy played the lead.

I saw him perform just over 20 years ago at the Leadmill in Sheffield. I very much enjoyed it.

One of the greats of Jamaican music. He helped to put reggae on the map.

R.I.P. Jimmy Cliff

" Lovely club, nice people - 2 (3) points to Liverpool."

Football shite should be in football shite thread.

Billy Bonds has died.

And how would I know that from your post?
I assumed it was a comment about your team.

RIP Billy Bonds

Fuck’s sake.

He’s a cricketer who would have loved playing the modern game. A man out of time.

A great shame.

I was at this game

It isn’t often that a player on the losing side wins MOTM but Smith did, on this occasion. I remember him being particularly savage against the bowling of Reiffel.

Unfortunately our bowlers couldn’t defend what was an impressive total. Mind you, they were up against one of the finest batting line-ups of that (or possibly any) era - Taylor, Hayden, M Waugh, Boon, Border, S Waugh…

Still a great day out though.

This is probably how I most remember his batting. Definitely not easy runs.
