The star of one of my favourite comedies. The comic strips Mr Jolly Lives next door.
Nicholas bloody Parsons. RIP.
RIP Parsons, genuinely funny man as well as consummate professional. Suspect R4 donât have a succession plan for JAM unlike Iâm Sorry I Havenât a Clue where they seamlessly introâd the brilliant Jack Dee.
Jack Dee is generally great but Sorry I havenât a clue needs to be laid to rest.
Itâs the only thing that keeps Samantha in a job
Like most Radio 4 âcomedyâ: agreed.
Gill usually turns it off before I have a chance to. Utterly out of time.
Harrumph! You dreadful bunch of Philistines! Last bastion of civilisation!
Now, BBC newsâŚ
Andy Gill of Gang of four fame has died aged 64
Bollocks! That is pretty hard to takeâŚ
Iâm Spartacus!
RIP
Decent inning though.
Watched that the other week as well - one of the few who deserve to be called a legend.
Had no idea the old bugger was still alive!
A true screen icon - RIP!
Amazing film
Spartacus has certainly left a legacy.
I was in a pub a few years ago when a taxi driver stood at the door and called âtaxi for Spartacusâ . I suppose you can imagine the response.
I doubt youâd find a gullible taxi driver nowadays.
Edit - I got the wrong actor, oops!
RIP.
Donât forget to order a taxi at the pub for Spartacus, taxi drivers, not the brightest.
Kirk Douglas had some iconic roles for sure. However after reading about his violent and demeaning rape of Natalie Woods as a teenager Iâm afraid I could never watch him in films again without this episode affecting my view of him. Others might be able to compartmentalise these aspects better than I can.
Blimey, I didnât know about that!
