I think this ranking can safely come into the latter part of the thread title.
Gloucester 7th, Tebay below Cherwell Valley and Hilton Park not on the list of the worst.

Some of those Somerset & Devon M5 ones are pretty poor. Haven’t changed much since the mid 70’s when it was opened down to Exeter.
It’s not a motorway but the services at Saltash off the a38 are like the head office of the businesses that are there have forgot all about them. Burger King , Subway and Travelodge and a BP garage.
It’s been a while since I went into Cherwell Valley Services but there’s a reason for that. I don’t like it. Both the car park and the building used to be overcrowded and access off one of the junction roundabouts could be difficult at busy times too. The fine print mentions ‘driver friendly’ and this place certainly wasn’t that.
All services are over priced shit, full of American take away shit and shit coffee. Tebay and Glocester are the exception, but still overpriced.
The fact that Cherwell comes to in that list tells you more about the customers than the services.
Taunton Deane is by far and away the worse, it’s pikey central with a glorified knocking shop attached.
Stopped there Sunday morning for a coffee.
None available, so went to Costa.
Lancaster is an absolute shitehole even though it does have the pretty cool aircraft control tower thing. Went to the Burger King there on the way to a training course once, it was shit. Being gluttons for punishment and my mate refusing to eat anything else, we returned on the way home five days later. The same chips and litter that were under the table, yet still in plain sight, were still there. Between Sun night and Thursday afternoon the place hadn’t been cleaned![]()
