Peter Gabriel

Wonder if he will take you to judge Judy for damages?

I love Daryl Hall’s voice. There have been some fantastic performances on Daryl’s House.

I wore out a tape of “Plays Live”.

Still an outstanding production IMO.

I got the Erasure album from a chazzer. Never played it. Don’t dislike them, but never feel like listening to it. Maybe that’s the same thing?

Nick Caves Ghosteen is real sadness. And Johnny Cash’s Hurt is painful.

For ‘feels’ Deep soul or Blues lists are long. That said some trad folk songs are devastating.

It’s precisely the absurd, theatrical, pretensions that conflict and detract from ‘The feels’. I don’t care how well observed, sculpted or heartfelt the lyrics - if they are delivered by a what appears to be a syphilitic penis demon, I can’t buy what’s being sold.

The thread’s title is Peter Gabriel, it’s not like there wasn’t a trigger warning

I’m a bit surprised by that tbh given the predilictions of early 70’s soul music.

The hair trigger of conniption is but a pulse away when considering Peter Gabriel AKA Sonic Heston.
