Phono stage recommendation for a friend

A friend runs my own of Bob plinthed 401 with a Jelco 750 and a Hana SL. This then goes through a Beard amp in to some 12inch tannoys.

He currently has a Leema Elements phono stage and is looking for something better. He loves good sound but isn’t a hifi nut. In his words he wants a 30% increase in sound quality

Budget €1-2k, he lives in Sweden but often travels to the UK.

I was playing with a Vida Prima in the week which for under £1K was very impressive

It’s a heroically unfashionable brand in these parts but the Cyrus Classic Phono is on run out at £1,099 at the moment and it’s monumentally good. I have used the older Phono Signature for nearly a decade and there’s very little I’ve tested under three grand I’d swap it for.

Vida Prima would be my choice under £1k excellent phono stage

Liked the low end black cube and this seems like a good price

Had a Remton and was really impressed with it

Old favourite, the 834p

Rega Aria

I had the Remton and found it a bit dark. I’m really liking my Aria though. Currebtly using it with a Hana SL and an IQ3.

Another vote for the Vida, goes very nicely with the Hana SL.

Excellent thanks all, will feed these back and see what they say

Cyrus Phono X Signature Ex demo - Moorgate Acoustics

Gold note ph5

This one on pfm would be very nice for half the budget

Yes! It’s been 25 years but I knew I’d get to use this again
