Pizza faff with hypocrisy topping

First Pizza of the year, happy with the dough but took my eye off the ball and the BBQ was up to 400 degrees so the bases were little burnt in places. Not bad for a Spring effort!

Anyone know what make this is?

Think it might be the Lidl one from a couple of years back, I don’t think they were very good.

Looks very likely Rob, thanks.

Marketplace mantra

Much better today at around 325 degrees.

Mine was salami and wild garlic from the garden

Was picking & eating some very young wild garlic leaves while out on a walk today. Absolutely delicious.

Yeah, I planted some in a corner of our garden last year, quite late as it was May/June from memory so was not sure they would survive the winter but happy to see they all did!

No pics but we had some excellent pizza courtesy of @SteadySteve from his Ooni wood burning oven on a visit on Monday,
Glorious day sitting in the garden with fantastic pizza. I understand that the bases were made with spelt flour and were excellent.

What pellets are people using for the Ooni these days?

Rabbit or owl.

Are those better than slug?

It’s subjective. You’ll have to experiment to get the best flavour.

None. Gas is so much easier to achieve and maintain a specific temperature.

You might as well go ahead and use a rolling pin on your dough.

I used a rolling pin on someone else’s dough. Otherwise the pizza would have been 2" wide and 2" deep :pinching_hand:

But I’ll happily defer to anyone who actually handstretched that dough into a 12" pizza… no didn’t think so.
