It has never occurred to me to mash cauliflower

With potato it’s lush. Butter, parmesan, seasonong and parsley when mashing it, grated cheddar on top and under the grill to crisp it.

I will give that a try :ok_hand:

Look delicious pmac.
I got back to South London from working in the US for 3 weeks last Saturday and since then I’ve been unable to find steak, cauliflower, potatoes or cheese on the supermarket shelves. I’m not going to starve but the food hoarders need to be shot. We live in a country horribly divided by the politicians over Brexit and it ain’t a quick fix.

Good effort, but I bet you can still taste the cauliflower .

Ooh, yes. Lovely :grinning:

My memory of fields of past-it cauliflower is that it’s quite hard to hoard. You have my sympathies about the rest (technically empathies since we don’t have much of them either).

I went to Tesco earlier to get my ÂŁ3 lunch deal, and steak was about the only meat they had, and they had loads. I picked up a couple of twin packs of sirloin, a pork joint for Sunday and a couple of packs of sausages.

The lady at the checkout said, very nicely, that they were rationing customers to three packs of meat, even though there was nothing on the meat section to advertise the fact, so I put one each of the steaks and sausages back. She was amazed that I didn’t make a fuss, and said she’d had to get the management involved sooooo many times today…

This was before the pub closure announcement so I didn’t think to buy any beer…

The woman checking people through our Sainsbury’s self check-out this morning looked like she could kill you with a single blow of her tongue. And if you’d made a fuss the rest of the queue might have indicated that you* still had to get your stuff out through the door and you were overwhelmingly outnumbered.

*Not you personally obvs.

thai green curry tonight

been to the chinese supermarket, got some shrimp paste, galagal, lime leaves, fish sauce, chillies, glutinous rice, coconut milk and lemon grass. Tried some Chrysanthemum Tea, which was sickly sweet. They were doing BBQed mouse on a stick to take away earlier.

Went to the Polish supermarket and got some nice jars of pickled vegetables and some black bread.
