Rega Elex MK1 with Snell J/II

Hi. I’m hoping for some advice. I’m looking for a cheapish integrated amp to pair with some Snell J/II’s. One that has caught my eye is a Rega Elex MK1.

Any opinions on whether this would be a good pairing? Or other recommendations ? I’m just looking for something musical and fairly warm to use as a stand in for a bit.

Not sure what your max price would be, but for an integrated with phono stage I don’t believe you could do better than this reconditioned Luxman. https://otomon.net/products/detail/136

£900 + shipping + VAT + step down traffo doesn’t work out all that cheap.

Throw in that Ken is an utter cunt if something goes wrong with it.

Luxman is a luxury Japanese brand, equivalent to McIntosh in America. I think the value of this reconditioned luxury integrated valve amplifier for $900 is a good buy. Other than replacing valves around 10,000 hours, it should last him the rest of his audiophile life and the sound is lush.

I have had no problems with my Ongaku copy that Uesugi Ken built for me, great value for what it is. I’m sorry if you haven’t had a good experience with him.
