Making more snacks like onigiri and sushi so fancy getting a rice cooker. Any insights on what to look for?

Lots of noodling but little rice.

Honest question - what’s the actual benefit/point of rice cookers? Rice is hilariously easy to cook in a saucepan.

My wife cannot cook rice in a pan. It defies all logic.
I bought her a rice cooker for Christmas one year. She was hilariously put out until she used it a week later and discovered it was excellent 
Presumably because she was so pleased with the steam iron you bought her the previous year?

Friend of ours can’t cook rice, so I wrote it out in a simple step-by-step manner for her.
She followed it exactly once and it worked perfectly.
But no-matter, because she has the gene for Always Knowing Better About Everything, so she’s reverted to whatever fucktarded way she’s always done it, and the result is as horrible as it always was - and she moans about it as much as she always did.
She does enjoy a good old moan, so there is that…
Normal cooking requires you being near the pan, with a rice cooker you can go out, do other stuff and it keeps it warm until you are ready.
You can also set it up with a timer so it’s ready when you want it.
I think they are also more efficient than using a job energy wise 
Wife bought one, I was sceptical for same reasons as @Mrs_Maureen_OPinion . Second all of the above, but the other benefit is not needing hob space.
Whatever works for you is good I guess 
For me it’d be one more thing taking-up needed counter space to do a job I can do on autopilot in 15-25 mins depending on the type of rice.

Oh totally and it’s why I don’t have an air fryer and all the others.
But this will genuinely save me time and faff and when I am at home for such a small amount of time outside of sleeping, makes sense for me
