See them live a few times, and back when they used a real slide and projector system as a backdrop.
Very amateur, with the the production values going up as they got more successful.
Shame most of the good stuff I have is on cassette!
Where/when did you see them play? I was involved with their lighting show for a brief period when their regular guy was unavailable. They seemed like really nice down to earth lads, hence my earlier comment. Their live show could be fantastic at times…
Hull uni.
Hull city hall
Two or three times I think. Most other bands were Hull Adelphi at the time… but pretty sure the first gig was the uni as they were too big for anything else.
Late 80s??
Wasn’t me then. I did gigs in Reading, Oxford, London and somewhere else in late 1990 or early 1991, probably Northampton as I vaguely recall being introduced to Sonic Boom and Pat Fish after the show and being tongue-tied despite being quite tipsy at the time…
The later ones could have been early 90s.
I do recall the early ones were well before the chart success. The later ones after and more polished!
