John (Lurch) passed away this morning 
Only met him a few times but was a really nice and friendly guy despite his somewhat gruff appearance 
His bakeoffs were stuff of legend and always happy to lend people kit or have them over for a listen.
RIP a proper meatman.

His bakeoffs were legendary. The banter; hospitality; the amazing music collection- and I mus mention the famous proper thick cut chips and fish fingers- bring your own red shit…

I didn’t meet John but was aware of him due to his experiment with Brinkmann around the time I had mine.

Very sorry to hear this. I had a few communications with him about various bits of kit over the years. Always enthusiastic & well informed. I think we may have met at a show or two or perhaps at Scalford.
I also met John just a few times. Even so his enthusiasm and commitment were really clear.
