Scalford Hifi Show 2017 Reboot

I have

I havenā€™t seen any changes but I kind of zoned out when there was talk of hifi shoot outs. Actually to be fair I switched off when it was clear that not all the proceeds from things like the show guide etc were going to charity.

Donā€™t tell 'em your name Russ :grinning:

So much for keeping the larger rooms available for exhibitors and trade being largely confined in the pavilion then?

ā€˜The balance so everyone is clear - The big rooms are a critical revenue source and we will offer these to trade first. If we canā€™t sell them then they will be availableā€™.

So thatā€™s what the show is about then. Well at least weā€™re clear. And no-one will be able to accuse anyone who organises a show which is primarily about enthusiasts of treading on their turf.

The show is the only way they will make any money out of the whole shebang

I can guarantee that the Trade will not be confined to the pavilion. But there have always been some trade rooms at Scalford.
Although I think the original plan was to sell all the syndicate rooms to the trade there may have been some backtracking.
I think it will depend on what systems that go in the spreadsheet would be capable of filling some of the bigger rooms.

Any how not my problem this year as I wonā€™t be involved. In fact I wonā€™t be attending at all.

Iā€™ve never been to Scalford. All the talk of pies and muffins and name badges was unbelievably exotic and enticing so I was hoping to go on the Sunday for this one, because I thought it would be the last one before it was totally commercialised, however it appears that boat has sailedā€¦

Oof, they done fucked it right up. RIP.

No there havenā€™t!

Of course they will. Theyā€™ll be wrong, but that never stopped anyone! :joy:

Nice of @Jim to allow them to use an image of his wonky turntable in their brochure. :innocent:

Weeeeeelllll ā€¦ I had a room the first year I was trading (and had a banner too, and paid James). Sodders did for a few years. And there were a few others. But it was very rare for them (us) to get into the large rooms. The general rule was that the best rooms went to the enthusiasts and the trade picked up what was left.

Pick any year Adam
There has always been some trade in exhibition rooms apart from possibly the first year when it was run by Chester Group.

Believe it or not NVA exhibited one year.

Only one? Why was that then?

Fire hazardā€¦
