Settle 2024 Friday Sep 6th to Sun Sep 8th

Safe journeys and have a great time everybody ! :beers:

Just a reminder of where we will be

Hornby Laithe Bunkhouse Barn,
Hornby Laithe,
Stainforth, Nr Settle,
North Yorkshire
BD24 9PB

From the B6480 through Settle turn onto the B6479 immediately east of the river bridge, signed to Horton-in-Ribblesdale. The place is about 2 miles from there, about half a mile before Stainforth village. The stone yard is a good marker, past that and up a rise and the barn is at the top on the left, with a sign outside. Turn in and take the track downhill to the barn (don’t go left into the owners’ house).

It’s on Google maps so if you use their satnav it will find it from the name.

Typical for me , About 4 weeks ago I started getting a red flashing light come on the dash of my camper van , Managed to take a photo of it while it was happening , Had a look on line for Iveco EDC light and it turns out it is ( Electronic Diesel Control ) Contacted the local Iveco dealers in Boston ( Peter Smith ) who told me they can’t look at it for 2 weeks as the only man who knows how to use the fault code reader is away on holdiday. I did manage to find another garage ( Kings ) who could see what the fault code was but had to wait 3 days , Went in and was told several historical codes were stored in the computer , They cleard these and sent me away saying if it does it again bring it back , I did it again friday last week so back I went , Read the coads again and I was told it is showing a faulty throttle attenuator , He opend the bonnet and pointed it out and said you need a new one of these, Iveco , No stock and said it would need to come from Italy at a total cost of just short of £800 , I looked out an alternative For £480 including the adaptor lead from the old style unit to the new one, Took me 2 days to get the old one out and the new one in, 6 mile test ride , Driving OK no EDC light , Happy days. Load the van today ready for the off and almost immediately bang , On comes the light , Loss of power , I assume it has gone into Limp mode, No way I can risk a 4 hour journey up and back knowing it may pack up altogether , Managed to get back home driving along like a slug , Half power , BOY AM I Pissed OFF , Sorry people I am now not able to attend  Hope you have a good time .

Well that’s abit of a bugger :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:.

Hold the front page , I thought I had put my Toyota on a sorn declaration , Just had a look at the Gov . Raod tax site and it is still taxed and mot’d , Just need to see if I am still insured to drive it , Back soon.
