Settle down now! Sep 5th - 7th '25

They do sell a lot of fabric-based items though, so they’re drawing a line somewhere. It’s not quite a farcical point. It seems the Black Death was brought to Eyam by fleas in cloth and we really don’t want that to happen again.

Over the years I’ve bought a few clothes from charity shops. I guess I just come from an age which has passed now - one where people could a) judge whether something really ought to be washed before use and b) if it ought, would have the means to wash it (so not forgetful people in remote barns ).

It’s been the subject of humour for a while (remember Reenie and Vinnie and ‘the special mark’ in the League of Gentlemen  ?).

Car fully loaded as a test - 16 panels, plus support structure, Plancha and Gas container safely in car @octh - As well as amps phono stages power supplies + Sub woofer - Dave if you are able to bring second Sub please do.

Dave is tha Plancha being used for Burgers on Saturday? If so I can cook onions on there as well? If needed bacon can be cooked no problem.

Towels are the line.
Stuff used for personal hygiene would not be sold .
They do use steamers on clothing, mainly to take out creases but don’t wash or clean/repair anything.
The standards are quite strict.
90% of clothing donated to charity shops is unfit for sale in the shop and sold to rag merchants.

Thanks Andy! Yes, the plancha can do both burgers and onions for Saturday lunch.

(@peterh You are not forgotten, I’ll bring a small bbq for haloumi and veg)

Going to bring my Richard Allan Class A amp and hopefully get a chance to try it with the Altecs.

Altecs tested and all good. I have these Hifi racks podiums that bring them to almost the right height. Might be able to unscrew the front legs a few turns to get them angled up slightly and should be good.

Issue with collecting on the way up as I can’t leave my house until later in the day due to being let down by my dog sitter. No problem on the return trip. If anyone could help Chris and collect them earlier that would be great.

I could be up for that. It depends on my car getting fixed, which should be completed in the next few hours (I haven’t heard yet, but maybe no news is good news). Otherwise it might get a bit more complex with hire cars. Let’s see what happens.

I did the same for some L300 I had but they made them look like a droid out of Star Wars

I’m not going to with you this weekend. I’ve been off work for a couple of days with ‘man-flu’, still have symptoms, and I don’t want to pass it on to anyone else.

Have a fun weekend.
