Is there a prize?
What are your thoughts Mike?
Gimme Shelter🎶
I would say that it’s very open, projects a massive soundstage and is very dynamic / authoritive Nick.
Love it !

It’s a very nice cartridge. ![]()
I’ve gone back to the dark side, made a silly offer of £700 for this and they accepted ![]()
Thought it would look nice and old with the Quad amps, just need to find the £30k I need to upgrade it to be one of the real LP12 fanbois ![]()
A post was merged into an existing topic: Turntables I have owned
I’ve been messing about with mats on my Sony for the last few months. I’ve still got the original Sony oil filled rubber mat that the TTS-8000 was supplied with but, in common with most of them, time has not been kind and the oil is no longer evenly distributed. The lumpy nature of the mat effectively induces a warp to every record.
The oil filled mat was an option on the later Sony TTS-6000 and quite often they were supplied with a solid rubber mat. When an original solid rubber mat for a TTS-6000 came up on ebay in Japan I thought I’d give it a try.
The Tenuto mat suits the Sony very well ![]()
I agree. It does sound good but as it is manufactured to sit in the recess of the SP10 platter, I wasn’t overly keen on how it sits on the Sony. It just looked a little bit odd to me with the severe cut away from the platter edge.
I agree it doesn’t look quite as good on the Sony but it does equally as good as job on both, ime.
A Tenuto has been on my wishlist for my Technics for a very long time but has never quite made it to the top of the “must buy right now” list. What would you say it brings to the SP-10 party?
all the shiny
I’m not at all good at describing how things sound but, to me, It just seems to tighten everything up, make transients that bit sharper and make everything sound a touch clearer and more open.
Steampunk remote for the M7 completed just in time for the bake on Saturday, courtesy of @murrayjohnson
When I bought the M7 from @thebiglebowski it came with the second box containing a 240>220 step-down. Guy made this dual-purpose by adding a motorised Alps Blue pot with associated PS and PCB.
Also a rather classy metal remote handset.
It all works superbly, so I’m very pleased! ![]()
LP12 up and running with the HR-100S arm and 2M Black cart
Looking it up turns out to be a very very early one i.e made in the first year of manufacture 1973 and sub 100 serial number. The Linn fanbois would have a sexwee if it was all original.
